i do believe a stock 3200 is plenty fast, however i want to run heavy apps.. also, i need to power a dell 20inch widescreen monitor

-Get bigger harddrives but this is a personal preference, speed VS size, it's up to you.

-Defiantly look at putting a 120gig harddrive in an external enclosure for backup purposes

I honestly don't understand why everyone feels the need to overclock. A stock AMD Athlon 64 3200+ is plenty fast.

But an overclocked AMD Athlon 64 3200+ is even faster.

well i'm running the 20.1 inch dell 2005fpw

no problems that i know of, although only the newer games (i.e. HL2, farcry) have the option of playing widescreen
