New video drivers

Alright, So I just downloaded the new Nvidia drivers and it says to uninstall any current nvidia drivers. Question: If I uninstall the drivers, will the video card still work? Also, what happens if I install the new drivers without uninstalling the old? Bottom line: Is it safe to uninstall the old drivers? What if something happens during installation and I can't install the new ones?

dude....stop and think about it for a second......what happens when you freshly install windows..........theres no drivers there....so using that little bit of info that pretty much tells you whether or not a card works without drivers.

If it wasn't safe to uninstall old drivers then why would they tell you to do so

which drivers did you get? are there new ones or did you just Dl the 71.89s?

Um, the most recent ones on Nvidias site I think.
