XP Home wants me to log in

Okay, I am still trying to learn my way around XP home. Now what I can't get rid of is a login box when the system first comes up. It's not the login screen where you choose which user you are - that one I got rid of. But, a login box appears that already has "owner" in place of my ID. I can hit enter without putting in a password and it goes straight into my desktop, but what I want is for the system to go straight into my desktop to begin with. So, how do I turn off the login box thingy.

Go to control panel,user accounts,then change the way users log on and off, then check mark the box that says use the welcome screen. that should do it.

thanks, i will try that when i get home. I thought I had done that already, but might have missed it.
