office 2003

i am trying to put microsoft office 2003 pro on a pc that has had office 2003 student & teachers trial edition on (brand new pc).
every time i put the serial code in the message 'installation source has been corrupted' appears.
i know the cd works, i have put it on 3 of my other pcs ( i have bought the licence to do so ).
can anyone shed any light......please

try uninstalling the old version first.

there is no option on add & remove.
tried deleting old one from c drive but still the same

is it a real office cd or a pirated copy?

Are you going to control panel and removing it that way. I performed the exact same thing on a friends computer with no problem.
