Hardware Question

right now i have a asus p4p800 delux with an intel pentium 4 3.2GHz and 1GB ddr3 ram with an ATI Radeon 9600 pro 128mb
and i am a pentium and ati fan i prefer those brands but i just got some new parts that include an AMD 64 3000+ an asus A8N-SLI m/b and a GIGABYTE nvidia geforce 6600GT 128MB i didnt choose these parts so this is why im asking what is better.

you should just get a 6800GT.......and then get another one of those down the road instead of two 6600GT's the difference in power will be pretty great

You should have got one 6800GT though, but it will be a great system

However you picked a crappy motherboard

to be more specific....

the 1st computer is better for /video proccessing/encoding , gernal windows tasks/web browsing

the 2nd computer is better for gaming, probably a lot better for gaming.

Everything except for the video card is pretty even, although, I doubt the pentium system actually has ddr3 RAM

The 6600GT blows away the 9600, so that is a HUGE boost for the second system.
