I have a client who is purchasing a new PC with Win xp, he currently is running 98

Is there a simple way to transfer the data he has on his C drive to the new C drive keeping his current settings for Mail, Network etc ?

Is there any software available that helps making transfers like this easier ?

Thanks

Well, if his new PC only has one hard drive in it (which will probably be the case), then take out his old drive, set it to slave, connect it to the second connector on the same IDE cable as his current hard drive, plug in the power and start the computer up.

Then just drag and drop all the files. When done, turn off, disconnect, send me hard drive. :)

XP also has a file and settings wizard that will transfer my documents favorites and stuff like that. But i agree with Lostman if able just slave up the drive or burn the data for the user. Never know when user will come back looking for previous data. Here at work we burn data to DVDs and give to the user to keep on file.
