How can you find out the Codec of an AVI?

Hey, i have this AVI file and windows media player can't play the video because it sais i don't have the right codec. I have DivX installed and all the basic ones so it obviously couldn't be one of those, so is there any way i could figure out what codec i need?

Gspot... is a program that will tell you
