In my opinion, Linux. The reason is flexability.
There are soooo many "flavors" of Linux that you can find the distro that you like, most likely download it for free, and you'll find that more and more applications and games are combining compabtability with windows and linux. I don't get nearly as many headaches with Linux either.
The distros that I use are Red Hat 9.0 Workstation and Knoppix-STD.

Longhorn is still in Alpha, of course it's going to be crappy now, but if you were lucky enough to get a copy that MS gave out at Comdex this year, then you would be in for a treat.

I like Windows (I like Linux more right now), but I think that Longhorn will be a good thing.

longhorn should be fixed by the time its released. of course that means mre buffer overflow problems, weak security, and a pretty interface. shiny new windows.

i love linux but i think windows would be much better if the programmers would increase security and remove those buffer overflow problems. if they done that the number of people switching to or duel booting linux would slow down.

i prefer linux but windows has its uses at times. more drivers mostly
