No. The 5700le sucks. It has compatibility issues with many games and like I said, it is actually slower than the 5600. In the box it comes with the driver cd, a dvi-to-analog converter, and an s-video cable. ANd yes, doom 3 is playable, but not great. You could probably get it to preform a little better if you used low detail, but it autodeteced to medium so thats what I use.

Alright, seems like i am going to go with that. Also, does anyone know what the highest PCi card is? As is, 5500, 5600, etc....

5600, not counting the the 5700le because it sucks, ive tryed it before. The radeon 9100 is said to be the best pci card, but they dont sell them anywhere anymore and it does not work with doom 3 and half life 2 and other dx9 games.

One thing, if you only have a celeron and 256mb of RAM for example, upgrading is not even worth it. I would still recommend you just build a new PC. You will be MUCH happier and it will run all your games like a breeze. Here is what I suggest:

If you cant afford it, just dont get the video card and start saving your money. It will be much, much better in the long run.

my thoughts exactly

there's no point in getting a new gfx card for a crappy comp because the crappy comp will bottleneck the gfx's performance

just save up instead of upgrading a way outdated computer

Hi scratching for a PCI card... I dont think he can hope to afford a 1000+ system.

He is probably better of buying yester-years tech (Lower end socket 939) and such. Should keep price down about 300 bucks.
