since I got the new OS the freezing looks more like an infinite loop. A high pitch helicopter sound plays when it freezes. very strange indeed. also the textures in game seem to lose some of their color pallet.

you using a 20pin or 24pin PSU?

i forget how those work cause i dont own one, but if you dont have a 24pin psu you need the PCX power connector pluged into your 6800 vidcard.

you wont beable to run games properly without pagingfiles, check pagingfiles settings at....

/control pannel/system/advanced/performanc setting/advanced/virtual mem (if you have 1gbram, set paging to 1024min/max)

you didnt over-clock anything did you?

nothing overclocked. The problem only occurs while connected to the internet. If the computer is disconnected from the internet it never freezes. Paging file size is fine

dont connect to the internet.

or, if you have a spair network card, install that. and disabled the onbourd lan. that way u may beable to find out if its the integrated ethernet controller that may be at fault.
