Hi nikkola

welcome to TF

Download

AboutBuster from one of these sites.

http://www.besttechie.net/tools/AboutBuster.zip
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4289.html
http://www.malwarebytes.biz/AboutBuster.zip
http://www.atribune.org/downloads/AboutBuster.zip
http://www.snapfiles.com/dlnow/rdir.dll?id=108281

After you download it unzip all files from the zip folder to a folder or your desktop.update it don't run it yet

Click here and download Adaware SE
update it Follow these directions to configure AdAware SE and update it but do not run a scan yet:
AdAware Tutorial

Download Spybot 1.3 from this site Spybot 1.3. Install the program, update the definitions file. Do not run it yet

Download CleanUp! (Alternate Link if main link don't work) and install it. Don't run it

===============

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes. You should not have any open browsers when you are following the procedures below.

We'll need to unload (not uninstall) Intermute's SpySubtract, since it might interfere with other program(s) we might be using to 'clean' off your system.

===============

When we're done cleaning off your system, i'd recommend that you install all the critical windows updates available from Microsoft, upto service pack 1. This will help to make your system more secure and prevent many 'problems' from reoccuring in the future.

===============

Next, please double click on the My Computer icon on the desktop. Go to Tools | Folder Options, click on the View tab and make sure that Show hidden files and folders is checked. Also uncheck Hide protected operating system files. Now click Apply to all folders, then click Apply then OK.

Reboot into Safe Mode (hit F8 key until menu shows up).

Go to Add/Remove programs and remove(uninstall) the following, if present:

Web Related

The above could appear anywhere within the entry. Be careful not to remove any personal or system software.

===============

Next, Open a command prompt by:

1. Clicking "Start", then "Run...".
2. Enter "cmd" (without the quotes).
3. Enter "services.msc" (without the quotes).

-

Now, locate and 'stop' the following services, if present:

Network Security Service (NSS) ( 6QÔõ'ª´ÆÐ8) owner ... (C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipfg32.exe)

Look carefully, since the name of the service (above) can be anywhere in the entry; also be careful not to 'stop' any required system services.

===============

Run HiJackThis then:

1. Click "Config..."
2. Click "Misc Tools"
3. Click "Open Process manager"

-

Next, while holding down the CTRL key, locate (if present) and click on (highlight) each of the following:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipfg32.exe

Now double-check and make sure that only those item(s) above are highlighted, then click "Kill process". Now, click "Refresh", check again, and repeat this step if any remain.

===============

Before we begin, let's move HiJackThis to it's own folder; like c:\HJT. When we're done 'cleaning' off your system, we're going to 'flush' the temporary folders which, with HiJackThis in it's current location, we'll lose both the program and the backups it creates. These backups are important in case we need to restore any 'fixed' entry(s) later.

Also move the "Backups" folder, for HiJackThis, if present.

===============

Run HiJackThis and click "Scan", then check(tick) the following, if present:

R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm

O23 - Service: Network Security Service (NSS) ( 6QÔõ'ª´ÆÐ8) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipfg32.exe

Now, with all windows closed except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

===============

Locate and delete the following item(s), if present. Make sure your able to view system and hidden files/ folders:

files...

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ipfg32.exe

now let's start running the programs

Run AboutBuster and follow the prompts to scan (choose Yes/OK for all). It will ask you if you want a second scan, choose Yes. Save the log file and post it here.

Click Start.
Click Ok. This will start the scan
Click Yes. By killing explorer.exe it makes it easier to remove the files that need to be removed. Note: DonÂ’t worry if your taskbar disappears for a moment. Also, explorer.exe is not Internet Explorer. Now, it will finish the first scan. Then after the first scan is done this window will popup.
Click Ok.
Click Yes. This will start the second scan.

After the second scan finishes.
Click Exit. Then reboot the computer, and run AboutBuster one more time. After you run it the second time, run HijackThis again, and post a new logfile to be analyzed to make sure youÂ’re totally clean.

==========

run adaware with the custom settings and fix all it finds

run spybot fix all it finds

Run CleanUp
-Make sure it is on Standard Mode. Click the "CleanUp!" button

now come back and post your hijack log and your aboutbusterlogs
and let me know how it went
