OK. I have a copy of Windows XP Pro. I am running XP Home. I would like to go to Pro, but can I do it without erasing the hard drive?

And, no, this is not an upgrade disk.

Install the disk, install xp, then it should ask you do you want to upgrade or a new installation (advanced), click upgrade and your files will still be there.

So, if I go through this, but it doesn't ask, just abort/cancel out?

I really want to go to the Pro, but I don't want to lose everything in the process.

I'm not gonna try it tonight. Maybe tomorrow... all depends on how long my "honey do" list is.

I'm just interested as well.
I suggest you back up your data just in case though.

Also you can install without formatting so maybe doing that will not delete your data.

Well, as soon as I can get the stinkin' file to cooperate...

I am trying to make a bootable CD from a bin/cue file, but it ain't working. I ahve several shiny new coasters, though...

It's late, and I'm frustrated. I'll try again tomorrow or sometime.
