a question about reformating? I'm New

To reformat the OS "win XP" I just load up the CD Rom "for re installing OS" and restart and go from their...

Or do I have to reformat first then load up the Cd rom? I'm confused forgive me I'm new to this... what about the drivers for my system???

here are the steps.
1. Boot of of your windows xp cd.
2. Let the cd load, then it should give you a few options.
3. I think you hit Enter to install windows xp.
4. It might ask you if you want ntfs or fat32, pick nfts.
5. It should start formatting.

If these are wrong ill do it on my computer and i will give you more exact directions.
