Ethernet Over Powerline!!!

Has anyone ever heard of this? Anyone ever used it? What will I need if I wanted to get it?

Yep it's a great idea, I am trying to run intercom over power now

It uses the same concept as broadband over powerlines, which is possible just not secure enough at this time yet. I strongly support broadband over powerlines because its how we're going to get broadband to all the rural areas still on dial-up.

It's a good concept, but it creates a huge amount of electrical noise. Please think of the HF radio services, as it interferes tremendously with them.

What exactly is an ethernet bridge?

In this case, it means it allows communication between the computer side and the power line side of the bridge.

Wow sounds like I can finally take my comp upstairs to my room. (wi-fi doesn't reach there)

But I have a very old house with very old wiring, will I get a slower connection because of that?anything over 1mbps is good right? unless I'm sharing files over lan.
