Hello,

I made a sort of frankenstien computer out of a bunch of old parts I had around, all of which I checked to make sure they worked. When I boot it up it says something along the lines of "Incorrect Boot Diskette, please insert a boot disk into drive A:". Anyone know what might be the problem? I put in my windows installation CD and it still says the same thing. Could it be because I didn't put in a clean hard drive? I didn't think that would matter but it's the only thing I can think of.

Did you set it to boot from the CD ROM drive first? What OS are you trying to install? Windows 98, 2000, XP?

Yes, I set it to boot from the CD-ROM first, I'm trying to install Windows XP. Also, I was able to install Linux Redhat 9 without a problem so I htink it might be my windows CD that's bad, but I used it to install XP before so I don't know...
