I can see how AMD is really cheap on advertisments. It shows in their promo girls.
Also if you look closely in the pic above with the AMD girls. All of the guys heads are turned in the opposite direction!!!!!!!!!

Regarding heat...I believe AMD's WERE hotter than intels, and now it's reversed with the newer generation chips.

Buuuut yeah....Intel needs to stay simply so we can have someone to bag on and say 'Haha loser' to the kids that buy it and say "AMDs FX-55 is only 2.6GHz!?! Thats crap'
aaaand beyond that, suppose hypothetically Intel died off, then AMD might become a shitty company and ridiculous prices and start not caring about their consumers.
