Cooling using oil

What do you mean the whole system is enclosed away from any circuits? The mobo ispretty much just one big circuit.

If you emmersed it, yeah, it would have a problem. However, your mobo itself doesn't get hot enough to even bother with it, and your HDD's need to breath. You'd just want to use conventional water-cooling ideas, and just have the oil tapped to the CPU and GPU.

Do you think you could link a liquid metal cooling unit? I would like to see one of those.

Nubius, I read a thing about a guy who did that once with a fridge. He took a huge fridge, cut it smaller, and severly modded the hell out of it. He was almost done (long project, not sure how long it took but it was very long) and he broke something which rendered the whole thing completely useless. He rigged it up somehow so he could just put his computer inside the fridge, but, like I said, not without extreme modifications and lots of headache. Poor guy, invested tons of time for nothing. Not contradicting anything you are saying, just merely stating.

My friend and I are going to build an extreme OC machine, and we are throwing ideas back and forth about how too cool it. We have an elaborate system in mind, but it's nice to try all other ideas too. I had thought of using oil like that, but I figured that maybe oil is conductive, so I thought against it. Is it common knowledge that oil in nonconductive? If it is, I feel like an idiot. Because, apparently it is not conductive.

I'm totally going to try that. Possibly the cheapest, extremely effective way of cooling.

Engine oil is only conductive when the carbon builds up, but I dont suggest using engine oil. Did he have his fans running?

I do this, but I use mineral oil. Read my post in the overclocking section of this forum. I use mineral oil to cool my powersupplies on my peltier setup, and I dunk my entire motherboard in a custom acrylic case to cool components that the peltiers don't cool. Soap and Water works great to remove mineral oil, you just leave the components alone for a few days to dry out =) If you are supercooling computers, this is a great way to prevent condensation, except that the oil tends to sort of congel at very low temps. Hope that cleared up any questions about doing this..oh and organic oils are a bad idea, they decompose and leave a sludge all over the board.
