I was thinking of buying more Ram for my computer to try and increase the performance of my system as well as an increase in performance when playing online. The Ram i'm using now is - DDR333 MEMORY 512MB PC2700 and i was thinking of getting 512MB DDR 400 DIMM PC3200 or Geil 2 x 256 DDR400 Dual Channel Kit - PC3200. My question is will the 3200 work for my computer since the mobo states it can use up too pc2700? I plan on getting a new computer next year so if my system right now can't fully utilze the PC3200 ram it's not a big deal, my next computer will surely be able to use all of the PC3200 Ram. Basically i want 1 gig of memory and was wondering if i could use to different Ram types (example- 512 PC2700 and 512 PC3200)
Thank you in advance!!

You can use the different types of ram but the one problem is that both will only run at the slowest pace

Yes, the 3200 will work but just be underclocked to the 2700 speeds. Like you said, no big deal....

I have been finding (locally anyways) that PC3200 is cheaper than PC2700. Probably has something to do with it being the 'standard' RAM to get these days.

sry forgot to mention this but can i use DDR400 Ram if i'm currently using DDR333 Ram? My motherboard supports DDR333.

Yeah it will underclock itself

And ouch at only having 256 right now, this puts you in a picke

768 ram single channel vs 512 dual channel
