im a firefox user but afaik it doesnt load the hotmail scripts which produce sigs etc.

not on my machine anyway....

Trillian wasn't hard! Kinda easier for me, one thing it lacks was the video chat :-(

i oculdn't get used to it, see i have all my friend lists sorted on each instant messanger. some are the same names so that was kinda odd.. and im use to this:
msn blue
aol light blue lol
and yahoo yellow
on trillian its not like that.. confused me

Trillian is the best.

A plus for me is that I can choose to launch it, or not. I usually don't, because I'm not online as much as I'd like to be, and don't want to waste too much time in IMs.

You just want to set firefox to default?
Start>control panel>add or remove programs>set program access and defaults (it's one of the button/tabs)>custom, set it to w/e you want.

You can do it from firefox too:
open firefox: tools>options>general>default brower
