This has been said time and time again. If you actually read that article linked in the dual core thread it says the same thing "The FX55 remains the current best solution for gaming"

Simply because games aren't dual threaded

If games were.......... Unbelivable graphics, sound, game play....................................

Athlon X-2's comin out end of May. supposed to deal with thermal heat better than Intel Dual cores so they can keep clock speeds up while Intel's best dual is 3.06ghz and their fastest single core is 3.8.

But Intel started the multiple threading and if it catches on like they hope AMD is gonna have to catch up.

I wouldn't say Intel started multiple threading, hyperthreading simulates the enviroment of multicore processors but is nowhere close to the real thing. Both companies knew that multicore CPUs were inveitable as both have hit a bit of wall as increasing clock speeds results in more heat than the silicon can handle safely.

Although I will say that AMD has actually still taken strives to improve their single core heat dissipation, with voltage constantly dropping on these cores and the same said with power consumption, as well as plans to decrease the size and pin count of chips, single cores may not be as dead as people may have thought.
