ouch, this sounds like your CPU is overheating and shuts down

I don't have any systems laying around to test the PSU. Would the processor overheat enough for the system to shut down just a few seconds afer turning the system on? If the heatsink isn't setting on the processor just right, will it turn off? Since I didn't have this problem until I took of the fan, could that be the source of the problem somehow?

Possible you didnt put enough on there and now it overheats even more, or you got AS5 on the MOBO and its shorting out.

Thank you guys so much for your help. My CPU is now running at 40c load, and 35 idle. All your advice was right on. Even my comp was turning off because the thermal paste was on wrong. Can't tell you enough how grateful I am....I hate having a computer I can't play on! Now to load CS source....
