What MOBO would work best with AMD 3800?

i suggest you go with the retail box of the AMD venice 3200+

Alright, so AMD Venice 3200+ and over clock it. That will be comparable/better than what I was originally looking at even though it has the 512 cache? Would it be better to go with one with a 1 MB cache?

1MB doesn't really matter only you're doing heavy processing stuff i believe

l2 cache matters alot, that's why Intel EE's at a lower clockspeped beat out higher clockspeed intel's. And that's why a 3.46 GHZ EE could take on an AMD 3500+ in some gaming tests
