finally booted

ok i finally got my computer to boot with my back up hard drive
just thought id share.. jk theres more
ok if i go to device manager.. it reads the hard drive
if i open my computer it does not
all ive gotten so far as suggestions.. is "flash ur bios" how would i do that..?

wait is there a partition on both drives I noticed if my backup one doesn't have one then it would not detect. so is there one?

neither of my hard drives are partitioned

are they on the corecct jumpers is there anytthing important I would try putting a partiton on them both.

yes see they HAVE to be set up right kus its plugged in and in the device manager it says: i have 2 hard drives
and hwen i open my computer i only have C...
ne how can i partition the other drive without being able to find it in "my computer"

if you have a jumper on your c drive, take off, do this for the rest of them. This is called cable select. If that dont work, get 2 jumpers, on your c drive, one on the other drive but set that one to slave position. So if your harddrive has 8 sets of pins, put the jumper on the first 2, then on your second drive, put the jumper on the second 2 and reboot.

then jump select didn't work and i dont have another jumper so i will just have to get another h/d

it works now
free 30 gig hard drive + i learned something cool
