DMA thingy

my DMA rate has gone down when i change my IDE cable
it was from DMA mode 5 to DMA mode 2
wats happening?

Okay DMA mode is your transfer speed, DMA 5 is ATA-100 and requires an 80 pin cable

If you are using 40 pin cables, it should go down to DMA 2 or 3 (forgot which one). This is due to it sensing more crosstalk on older 40 pin cables.
