Are still able to play the music with a media player in Windows? Or, do you play the music using the 'play' button on the front of the drive? If you are playing music via the play button on the drive, then you might have a problem with an IDE cable or something.
What I would do regardless:
Unplug CDROM's IDE cable, and boot into Windows. Then shut down. Then, plug CDROM's IDE cable back in, and boot into Windows, and Windows should auto-detect it.
