512 meg card benchies

Cards like that are made for n00bs that are bedazzled by high numbers that dont know what they actually mean.
 
Yea, they are useless. besides, if ur gonna put 512MB on a card, do it for an Ultra (which they already have) or an X850 XT/PE
 
lol, that sucks. ATI was all boasting about how it'd be so much better with that extra memory at that overclocking convention, guess the benches say otherwise.

I knew it wouldn't do that good in doom3 though, that game is heavily biased towards nvidia, so it'd take one helluva card to match the ultra in that particular game
 
X800's are pwnage, why would they upgrade it to 512? To waste company money? Or just to make a show off card?
 
256MB is not even needed for this day and age. Graphics performance comes more from how many rendering pipelines you have and clock speed, not from the amount of memory as long as you are over 128MB. The only people who will buy that are noobs who see "512MB" and are like "oh boy! oh boy!" :D
 
frame size is still= width*height*color depth, always has been,always will be

2048*1136*32bit color is 74mb
