Monitor Problem?

First off, I may be posting in the wrong place

But for the question, Just starting yesterday, when I first turn on my PC, the screen will load (Windows XP thing) and then go black after, and the only way to see the Login Users screen is by turning the monitor off, then back on a few times.

Is this a Monitor Problem? or problem with the PC?

How old is the monitor? Is it a CRT or an LCD? What are your system specifications? Sounds like your monitor may be going bad

Had computer almost 2 years, I think it's an LCD monitor

2.4 GHZ
512 MB Ram
80 GB

Open the case and reseat the video card. Try to hookup another monitor to the machine and see if it does it.

When you boot up, leave the monitor alone for a few minutes, just to see if it displays because you are turning the monitor on and off, or if it is just timing.
