i am using a pci slot for my graphics on it is ati all in wonder 128, althon 900mhz, 5xx of ram, wd 40 g hard drive, antec case, abit motherboard, and regular sound blaster card. i build this computer in 2001. i do my home work on word and other programs, surf the internet, play music, watch dvd's, and others. i have some games like sof, unreal tour to name two.

right now, i want to build a high end game pc. i want something thats a small case like FIC Ice Cube VG-61 not a huge antec case. can someone tell me whats the best memory, hard dirve, motherboard, graphics card, sound card and others just for playing games and nothing else! thanks

for memory u can go with kingston or corsair memory sticks .. 1 GB shud be more then enough for todays ventures... PC3200 or PC4000 ...

Graphics card would be the Radeon 9800XT no doubt ...

Sound Card : Sounblaster Audigy 2 ZS

hard drives depending on how much storage space u need just get a 120 gb 7200 rpm drive wid 8 mb cache ... western digital and seagate are good companies ..

cpu and mobo .. keeping the price vs. performance issue in mind either intel or amd would do .. i personally use an amd and it suits me just dandy ... do some research on these two though ..

other then all that a good cooling fan, mouse, keyboard, 19" moniter, dvd-rom/writer is pretty much all u need ..

g'luck ..

Rather than buying a tiny case, just get a mini-ATX, or a midtower. They tuck nicely, unless you're in college, in which case, just go for a laptop or a cappucino mini PC.

IT all depends on how much you're gonna spend on a gaming PC, but I recommend AMD processors for gaming, they seem to be better for that purpose, while Intels seem to be better for web surfing & such.

Just make sure your AGP card will fit in the box.. Also check that the PSU has enough W..

most new motherboards come with 5:1 surround sound,
dont buy audigy..

Another HDD reccomendation would be the Western Digital 36gb 10000 rpm raptor. i have seen this on a couple of gaming machines and it is incredibly fast. I know 36 gb is not a lot of space, but it is enough to hold all your programs and applications and OS. then put data on other drives. the drive has a 5yr warranty and makes a big difference on game launch and play speed.
