Ur Advise plz, 1st time building

Well I would highly recomend looking at overclocking, it's becoming a good option, a 2.0GHZ 3200+ can pretty easily do 3.0ghz which is up and above an FX-55

Yeah no DDR2, and a 3200+ or a 3500+ and overclocking is a better idea, even if you fry 1 3200+, you still have enough money to buy another one comapred to getting 1x 4000+

And the chance of frying it is zero to slim if you use a little brains

IMO that computer is enough for anything already and is VERY overclocking capable (eventually you'll become more interested in OCing i bet)

of course, that leaves a lil more than $700 which you can either save for future upgrades or blow it on an upgrade to dfi lanparty ultra-d SLI mobo along with another eVGA 6800GT to put them in SLI mode (unnecessary unless you got the money to blow)

of course, there might be better ram than that, but i' think it's pretty good for OCing (canadians should be much more famliliar with ncix than me)

The venice is out on ncix already. And I would get the Thermaltake Tsunami for like $35 more - aluminum.

The "ocz dual channel optimized platinum 2x512mb 2-3-2-5".. hmm.. Don't know the performance specs. Think this unit can hit 250 fsb on stock settings and be stable 24/7? I'd like to know this myself. Anyone have these sticks? When I say 24/7, I mean 24/7.. And not for 30 minutes just to take a bench, like some guys do on forums.

the 3200 is way more OC-able than the 4000 and can easily pass 4k speeds

Well, by the same reasoning, why can't u just "overclock" the 4000+ to beat the crap out of the "overclocked" 3200+? Sure, the 3200+ when overclocked might beat the STOCK 4000+. But not if u overclock both!. Not a fair comparison IMO.

But I agree that we probably can't feel the difference in current apps. But, in another year, probably ..

Having never owned a 4000+, I don't know how well it overclocks. Got any benchmarks to say the 4000+ is less overclockable dude?

In a 3200+ venice and a 4000+ on air cooling, I believe the 3200+ has a good chance of reaching much higher than a 4000+

It's artechture, 4000+ is clawhammer or newcastle.

So far you've only told me that ram is wrong...? I dont see much else wrong.

I disagree, I've looked at benchmarks and they say something different. I'm not looking at this as which is more OCable.

Below are my new specs. This satisfies me, and it fits my budget.
I'm not going to OC but perhaps later down the road i will. If you have any more advise for me, I would like to hear it. Thnx guys
