changing multipliers

No your probolly not running it at the wrong FSB, or you have an AMD 2800+ and an 2800+ runs at around 1.6GHZ ish not 2.8.

Forget overclocking the hell btw, you wont be able to change anything

Im using an Intel p4.

Nice theory though.
 
oh yeah and the fsb IS WRONG. Its a 533 fsb processor which can get up to 2.4 if you take the fsb up to 800. Can never get it to 2.8
 
Intels processors are locked I believe. The method I was talking about was purely for specific AMDs.

I don't think it's even possible for your Intels multiplier to be incorrect because like I said I'm pretty sure they are all locked from the get go. Post a CPU-Z shot and I'm sure someone can help more
