I've been having a lot of problems with crashes/ram dump errors lately. More-so the Crashes. My sytem will shutdown anytime I try to run video, burn cds, pretty much anything other than general web browsing/word processing. I have no idea where to start with this. I have formatted/reinstalled XP, and that didn't help. I've swapped video cards, nothing... Could it be a faulty HD??? (its getting old) Please....someone...anyone...HELP ME!!! :(

i dont have nearly enough expertise to answer your question, but i'm almost certain anyone who does would need to know a little more about ur system. what type of computer it is and stuff, or if it's a custom job.

Ok, Ill try to remember (this system is at my parents' house:
ABit k7 (without raid)
AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1 Ghz
512 mb pc100 sdram (zuess components)
Western Digital 30gb 5400 HDD
Soundblaster Live! Value
Gainward Geforce 4 64 MB DDR
Plextor 16/8/32

Its a custom job...

Hope this helps! Please save me!

When you boot the machine, do you get a message about battery voltage? If you do, then your problem is most likely the CMOS battery. I've seen that happen when the CMOS battery is bad.
