monitor on a fritz

ok my friend has a samsung lcd monitor, its about 2 years old. the problem is..when the computer is starting up, the inital screen you get that says like press F2 to enter set up and all that jazz...doesnt work. and when we try to go into safe mode...it doesnt work either. im sort of at a loss. the only other time the mintor doesnt work is with starcraft....it works with every other game. so im just wondering if anyone knows what is up.

Maybe the resolution or refresh rate is out of range?

Last time I checked, most monitors displayed the analog signal it recieves....

I concur with shawn. If that isn't it, then your monitor is just crap lol. My monitor is from an compaq thats almost 9 years old. Age doesn't have anything to do with it.

Find the native frequency and resolution for the monitor, and set that in Windows.
