Alas, I do not know what that means. My computer runs Windows NT 4, Service Pack 6. Does that help at all?

Yea. That is ntfs. I should have looked a bit, cause you said that before. Just getting annoyed with it I guess.
Are you on a network with other machines not running NT4?

Yes, some of the other PCs are running Windows XP Professional, SP2. If I log on another workstation do you think I could fix it?

Possibly. I think NT has a limit on File name length that is not the same with the others. Might try to connect to the machine remotly and then try deleteing the file that way. See what you get.
