i have an athlon 64 3000+ (Socket 754 dog gone it!) and Windows XP Pro. When I go into the system properties, it says i have an AMD Athlon 64 Processor then below it, it says 2.01Ghz. I know my 64 doesn't clock at 2.01Ghz. heck, my old athlon xp 1500+ clocked at 1.35Ghz. Is my motherboard misinterpreting the speed or something?

that shoud be very close to being correct because the 2800+ runs at 1800Mhz, and the 3200 runs at im guessing 2250Mhz or very close to that, so try to figure out where a 3000+ would sit in there.....

Yep that's just right

my 2500+ also clocks at 1.533, it's all about the artechture

If you're talking about an Athlon XP 2500+ (I assume you are, correct me if I'm wrong), then you are very underclocked. The 2500 should run at 1.83 GHz, 11 x 166 FSB.

what!?!?!? how can a 3000+ clock at 2.01Ghz and a 1500+ clock at 1.35Ghz!?
Uhh well what were you expecting? I hope you don't think it should be doubled just because 1500x2 = 3000+

You should really get that kind of info (clockspeeds) about the CPU before you buy one.

That speed is exactly where it should be

Yeah oops it's only a 2000+, no idea why I typed 2500+

I think I was dreaming on a 2500+ mobile

oh no, don't get me wrong. i really don't care, as i love my athlon 64 greatly! i just wondered if that was correct. I do think it works twice as fast as my xp though :p
