Ok this is it...the stuff i didnt add in like keyboard mouse and stuff dont worry but Im completely lost with what CASE to get...andy suggestions on CASE and the above would be appreciated!!!

Sounds good.

I'd go with the DFI board, and the 6800GT if I had the cash. And, yes, if you buy an SLI mobo and later get the second card, it is definately worth it.

As for a case, check out the ThermalTake Armor case:
http://thermaltake.com/xaserCase/armor/armormenu.htm

It doesn't come with a PSU, so look for a good one from a decent company.

1.) how much can you spend
2.) do you want SLI?
3.) will you overclock?
4.) nvidia or ati? or both?

1)around $2000AUD
2)For future purposes yes
3)Wont be as soon as i get my computer but might later on
4)nvidia

Oh yea and Trotter i have a thermaltake tsunami dream case and its loud as hell i dont think that one will be quieter infact much louder so anyone with any other suggestions thanks...

And btw diablo do you you think your system performs well???

go with the DFI LANPARTY nF4 SLI-DR, everything else looks pretty good. 6800 is awesome, a buddy of mine has it and being a ATi enthusiast, that is the only nVidia card that I like. So I hope that you like it. The only thing that I would change for sure is the hdd I dislike Seagate with a passion everyone I know that has one it ends up crapping out on them, so I use Western Digital, and I have never had a problem with it. And all of my friends that I reccommend a Western Digital to they thought that it ran faster than the Seagate they owned.

Check this out:
Western Digital Caviar SE 3.5" Serial ATA150 Hard Drive 250GB
http://www2.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144154

It may cost $10 more, but just look at all the extra space you get!

My question still remains...can you run a single graphics card on a sli motherboard..and like use the sli feature when games became very demanding??

yes, i'm doing that right now (somewhat...my board has 2 pci-e slots and can be modded to SLI)

TT case
amd athlon 64 "venice" 3200/3500+
dfi lanparty ultra-d SLI
2x 512mb G skill LA's (best OCing ram)
Seagate (quietest drives) 250gb SATA HDD
NEC 2510A dvd-rw
ocz powerstream 450/520

something like that?

Well its along those lines...

TT case
amd athlon 64 "venice" 3200/3500+
dfi lanparty ultra-d SLI
ALREADY HAVE RAM
maybe western digital they are fairly quiet
Antec neopower 480

Maybe something like this...and btw are the venice precessors even out yet????and what are they???

Haha...cases don't make noise, the fans (etc) in them do :). Of course you could dampen any case... I plan on using the Thermaltake Tsunami (silver) in my upcoming pc.

IM pretty sure that ASUS makes the best A64 mobos. Other than that it looks great, but I would look into getting a cheaper NEC DVD+/-RW. I have one and its never messed up a disc, its silent, and its recognized by everything. Newegg has them cheap.

Are you serious? ASUS is the worst brand name for mobo's for a64 right now (foxconn PC CHIPS are not brand names)

Yes you can run a single card in any SLI board, and go for the DFI.
