Hi everyone. At costco.com, there is a SmartDisk 80GB FireLite drive that costs $179.00. However, there is also a SimpleTech External 160GB Hard Drive that only costs $129.00. Why does a drive that can hold 2x the amount of data cost $50.00 less? Is it simply because of its larger (and thus less portable) size? Is it brand-name?

Basically, is there something else I should consider besides how much data can be stored? Thanks.

There are other factors that could go into why one is more expensive than the other. It could be the speed of the drive. Both brands I havent heard of before. It sounds like noname brands that have the value of their product skewed.
