I was wondering... if I get this compound....

.... for this processor (I discovered it was fried as well as the mobo in a recent incident) since this CPU is rumored to run kinda hot...

How much of the stuff do I actually apply? I checked the site and it doesn't say how much to apply to the CPU surface. It talks about a 0.001 inch layer... so do i just apply an extremely small drop and just set the heat sink on and it spreads as time goes on?

its good compound, you just put a little just a godd amount on the top of the core. and then put the heatsink over it.

With AS5 you apply only a small dot the size of a BB to the CPU if it has a Heat Spreader, if its an older one like a P3 or an Athlon XP then a dot the size of a grain of rice.

Its a Pentium 4 Prescott at 3.0 GHZ (when i get it). So about the size of a BB, got it.

Yea the size of a BB after you clean the HSF and CPU with 99% rubbing acohol, then you set it on top of the CPU and turn it slightly to the right then slightly to the left and then line it back up and attach it.

one of the best it is the best but it might take a while to put it on correctly but make sure it is a thin layer take a piece of paper next to it and it should be about the same size.

erm, when you get it spread out you dont wanna take that heatsink off..... dont worry about how thick it is right now, it will work right if you put a dot the size of a bb on there... i usualy put about 3 of the dots rofl...
