I just upgraded to a P4P800-E Deluxe mobo and tried to boot up but it mentioned something about the Promise FastTrack controller. I went to the ASUS website and it said that I had to disable the Onboard Promise Controller, so I did. When I tried to boot again, it then said that it didn't start correctly and asked me to start in safe mode, safe mode with networking, etc. No matter what I select, it just keeps rebooting and sending me back to that same screen. What do I do? Please help! Thanks in advance.

I was told that if I use the xp tool called sysprep, it would work and only ask for drivers once installed.

i had the exact same problem last night, you are gonna need to operate off a boot disk of some kind to be able to get to a command prompt, and then format.

Same model? Probably not.. just make sure the bios is exactly the same too. I would recommend first backing up the files you want to keep, just in case.
