When I built my new pc, I put a Soundblaster PCI128 from an old computer in it. Ever since I did this wav files skip. The skipping is not organized it just happens now and then. It does not happen when I play a CD on my pc only when I am playing a wav file in a wav editing program such as Goldwave or N-track. Someone told me there may be a BIOS setting that needs to be tweaked. Does anyone know what this setting might be called?

What kind of a processor do you have?

With audio editing programs, and slow processors, this happens :D

It has only happened since I installed the soundcard. With the onboard sound it does not happen. My processor is a Athlon XP 2800+ (Barton core) that I have overclocked.
