I get the following message when I boot windows 98. Following file is missing or corrupt: command.com Type the name of the command interpreter. I've gone on to microsoft's website to check the problem. Told me to type sys c: in the command prompt, but I just get a bad command. Anyone have any suggestions about repairing this file?

Ugh, you can find command.com online free download. If that's your problem, I'm not exactly sure about all of your problem by your description.

hey macdude, that's the problem, I have a boot disk, and I did try sys c:, but I get the bad command or file name. As said in my original question.

Have you tried over-writing the file? Boot with that floppy to the command prompt and try this command :

xcopy a:\ c:windows\(command dir) /s

That should replace the file and cure your issue. If it doesn't I know a couple of other dos techniques to get that file replaced so just yell. :)
