--------------------------------------------------------------

i am ordering all of this on monday. all that i want to know is "will everything work?" and i would also like to know if i should get anything else other than what is listed above. (i know the operating system and keyboard lol)

my main concern is... will http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-144-172&depa=1 <<< that work with the motherboard that i selected?

also just a reminder, list anything else that i will need or will want to get.

1.) you need a power supply, kingwin sucks
2.) yes, that HDD will work
3.) get a DFI lanparty (you don't need sli)
4.) if you knock the 3500 to 3200 winchester, you can afford an ati x800xl

so what you are saying is....

keep the hard drive

get a dfi lanparty (save about $50) and then go down to a 3200 winchester( save money lol) and with the money i save buy an ATI X800xl

oh, and get new PSU

yea, you can't feel a difference between the 3200 and 3500 at stock, and with that hyper-X of yours, you can easily overclock it to 3500 speeds with the touch of few buttons and both of them can be overclocked easily with great ram

however, i've heard that BH-5 isn't great with AMD64; samsung tccd's work better

or the LE's for $300

since that hard drive will work, will that hard drive work in RAID if i get 2 of them. this HD is ata100 so i dont kno if it will work..

agree with diablo, the 3200+ Winchester is a perfect processor, great price and plenty of power. Then you can get a beefier video card, the x800 xl is a good option. :p

I think RAID 0 for your hard drives would be a great idea, because you will have very fast speeds that way. ;)

SATAII is super-fast and 2 of these in RAID 0 would probably be your best option. :D
Basically I suggest this setup (everything is compatible):

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-K8N Ultra-9 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=13-128-283&depa=1

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=19-103-502&depa=1

Hard Drive (TWO of these): Hitachi 80GB 7200RPM SATA II Hard Drive
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=22-145-082&depa=1

Video Card: Rosewill ATI Radeon X800XL Video Card
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-164-041&depa=1

Also I have to point this out now. That power supply that comes with that case is absolute crap. You really need a better power supply than that, TRUST ME. :(

This power supply woudl be perfect for you, it's just sweet and would look great in your case as well (blue).

Power Supply: Thermaltake PurePower 460w Blue Light PCI Express Power Supply
http://www.xoxide.com/thermaltake-purepower-460w-pci-express-psu.html

Also you should get an additional 80mm fan for your case. Because there is a spot in the back for a fan but it has no fan. I would recommend this fan(it's one of the best) :) :

Fan: CoolerMaster Blue 80mm Neon LED Fan Rifle Bearing
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-999-051&depa=1

Hope this helps!

Sorry if I went over budget

but will the hard drive that i listed above, the 160GB WD one, work in RAID with the ASUS mobo?
