10 second help please

hi - is the cpu fan supposed to blow air down onto the heatsink & cpu or draw it away from them.... just replaced fan and can't remember what it did.

it can do both, it depends on how it was designed
it won't matter too much anyway, as long as air is flowing around the heatsink

ok cheers - it looks as if it is designed to go 1 way round as the screw holes are countersunk

My cpu fan blows the air onto the cpu, but if the air flow inside your pc isn't good it will only blow the warm air inside the case onto the fan making it warmer

Well yes but I don't have to worry about that I have 6 system fans.

It should blow onto the heatsink usually.
