Am building first PC - only stumbling block so far is front panel audio. The mobo has 9 pins from top left to bottom right they are

GND | +5VA | BACKOUT-R | FREE | BACKOUT - L
MIC | MIC POWER | AUD OUT-R |GND | AUD OUT_L

The lead from front of case only has 8 and they are

audio R & L in
ausio R & L out
GND * 2
MIC in and Mic power

so it looks like I'm missing the +5VA - can anyone explain this

and for bonus points - can any one explain the idea of +5VSB standy by thing - it mentions this for one of the jumpers and something about 2amps of current needed from supply and it's something to do with remotely controlling pc through usb.

I think this is it
GND | +5VA | BACKOUT-R | FREE | BACKOUT - L
MIC | MIC POWER | AUD OUT-R |GND | AUD OUT_L

audio R & L in
audio R & L out
GND * 2
MIC in and Mic power

*edit*
except for USB and firewire, it doesn't matter if you get these wrong, it won't damage your system. they don't carry enough charge to damage anything

ok I have received a response from mobo maker:

R IN & L IN -> AUDIO OUT R & L

R OUT & L OUT -> BACKOUT R & L

Not very intuitive, but I will try it and let u all know. Thanks for suggestion apocolypse - you might still beright because their suggestion looks odd to me... we'll see

you'd better follow the motherboard maker actually, so it should go like this. I was a bit skeptical with the audio ones
GND | +5VA | BACKOUT-R | FREE | BACKOUT - L
MIC | MIC POWER | AUD OUT-R |GND | AUD OUT_L

audio R & L in
audio R & L out
GND * 2
MIC in and Mic power
