forgot password for windows XP

hey i forgot my password for windows xp and i dont kno what to do

please help

boot into safemode, use the non password Admin account and then change the password for your account once you are in. To get into safe mode, press f8 repeatedly as the machine is booting. Needs to be done before you see the Windows splash screen though.

i have tried to do that but there was no admin account

there has to be. Did you do the install or did it come from an vendor?

i formated my hard drive and reinstalled windows and i tried your safe mode suggestion and usually it does have and admin acount like you said but this time it didnt by reinstallin windows can i create a new account?

well then, might I suggest a product from Winternals? For $150 you can gain access to almost any machine... but remember it's 150 a machine...

actually....on second thought.....
I don't really care if he/she is or isn't. I use this tool all the time and it comes in really handy. I just used it the other day at a Ben & Jerry's because they too forgot their Admin account password.
