true blue is 28A@12V and is antec so it's good

I brought the 480watt Antec True Blue and am kinda worrying cause I just recieved my XFX and under minimum power supply for the PCI-E it states 500watts!!!

Does this mean I'm f*cked? I calculated how many watts I needed and 480 seemed to cover it nicely.

No just use the Antec, really 500watts is some BS as their cards are NOT THAT power hungry.

On the box for the XFX6800GT it says a minimum of 500Watt powersupply for the PCI-E version.


In manual it says at least 300Watt powersupply. To better overclock a 6800 ultra 480watt, 500watt or higher for the 6800gt PCI-E.

The might be talking about peak wattage. Antec uses the rated wattage, they call it "true wattage". A rated 350 watt power supply is all you need for a 6800 gt, and that Antec is a rated 480 watt. Don't worry about it, you have plenty of power.

And I have that same power supply except not the blue one and it powers all the crap in my sig easily along with some case fans and cd burners and stuff.

Usually the cheapest PS's are peak, the better are RMS
