sounds like its relating to the video card, do as I suggested as it really won't hurt and its not as if you can't change it back easily anyways just want to eliminate the possibility

SP1 is pre installed if hes on xp pro as far as i know, but anyways i get that error everytime i try to scan my computer with nortan :-

1. Don't recall the version of XP (ie pro or home) being stated
2. Early releases didn't come with SP1 integrated


Anyway, Thresh, wondering if this might be a virus/adware problem. svchost.exe is a normal process that runs in XP but also tends to get hijacked by viruses/spyware.

Sounds like your system just went to hell. Try reinstalling, maybe you disabled something in the system services that needed to be enabled?

The steam.exe and razertra.exe are programs I use so there fine. By the way thanks alot for the help samm and everyone else for trying .

Must admit, I forgot to ask if your system was OC'd (duh)!
Glad it all seems to be OK now & I can't see anything in the hijack log that looks suspect.
