compaq armada 7400 P2-300MHz

Hi, has anyone succesfully installed PC100 sodimm in their compaq armada 7400 laptop ( since this model has a 66MHz bus )? i emailed HP/Compaq if i can use PC100 and their reply is it may cause incopatibility problems and they don't recommend it.

i'm asking this since PC66 sodimms are harder and more expensive than PC100 sodimms

PC100 sodimms have a little more difficulty downstepping to a slower speed. I wouldn't recommend it either. I really don't think that it will hurt anything, however the RAM may not work at all within the laptop.
