If he's doing word processing then forget a video card. Use the money on more ram and processor speed.

Hey peeps,

We still haven't gotten the final setup nailed down. I'll let yall know when we do though. I wanted ask, though, are we gonna need to purchase cable's and connectors and what-not to put it all together or will the parts come with what we need? Another thing, if we go with that case I listed above will heat be a foreseeable problem? Do we need more fans and if so, how many and what are some good, cheap fans to buy?

BTW, I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and help. The more I read here on the forums and more I go to sites like newegg the more excited I get about this. I think that after I help build my buddy's rig, and assuming all goes well, I'm gonna try to scrape together about $1500 and see what I can do.:D I'll keep yall posted.

Thanks

$1500? Whoo-hoo, everybody step back... you don't want to get any of this on ya...

Hey Trotter you makin fun of me? $1500 may not be much to you but I'm in college and it's gonna take some effort to make that much just to buy a computer with. My dad will probably shyte a brick when he finds out what I want to spend. Especially considering I already have a decent laptop. Oh well, I want a nice gaming rig. And more than 20GB of storage too.

Not making fun. I just know how the pirahnas will go nuts with that kind of a budget...

Oh. That's ok though, let them come. Everybody needs to dream. Plus I'm still new to computer building. I may be jumping the gun anyways. 1) I don't have $1500 yet and 2) I still haven't ordered let alone put together my buddies comp yet. I already know there will disputes about amd vs. intel and ATI vs NVidia but all suggestions are welcome as long as it stays civil. Everyone needs to remember though it'll be my rig and my decision as to what I go with. So please don't anybody get your feathers ruffled. :D

Just remember that once the feeding frenzy starts, there's no calming it until it has run its course...
