Need A New Sound Card

i need a new sound card, mine bites. I need a sound card that works well for recording, listening to music, and gaming. I have a dell 4300 desktop with a pentium 4 at 1.6 ghz with 512 ram. Please, recommend me something that will suit my needs, thats under $300 U.S. thanks you.

Sound Blaster. Augigi 5.1 Suround Sound. Get a Sub-Woofer and a bunch of other stuff. Happy shopping.

Soundblaster is probably the most widely used but it'll probably only cost ya a hundred bucks or so. So I feel that after me giving you this priceless info Holydirt ya should send me the extra 200 bucks I saved ya

'Under $300?' !!?!?
You can get an Audigy 2 Platinum Pro for about $250 at most.
If you're willing to spend that much, that's what I would suggest.
But if you don't have digital 5.1 speakers to go with it, there isn't much point in changing the sound card to something so expensive as an Audigy (2).
