I pulled apart my pc to clean it and I took off the cpu.
Should I have done that?

Now I can start the pc but nothing shows up on the monitor, it won't load windows and i cant turn it off by the power button on the case.

Have i broken the cpu or something else?

make sure you have put everything back as it was. You might have had a static chage and you fried one of your components.

Like wayne said, put everything back just as it was; all of your cables securely in the right places.

Also after you check everything, when you start up listen for any beeps the mother board might make sometimes that is an indication of a problem.

Also did you make sure to use thermal paste on the CPU?

And if it's Intel preschott, did you use artic silver 5?

I put everything back in the same as before and for some reason the internal speaker didn't beep even though it usually works. I think i have fried the cpu or something. Also the cd drive won't work so could the psu, mobo or cd drive be broken as well?
